EHS Manager - Rudrapur(Uttarakhand)/Manesar (Haryana) Factory

Primary purpose of Job:

Summary:

- Continual development to improve Environment, Healths Safety (EHS) management system to achieve our vision - "Zero Safety Incident" at unit level.

- Ensure EHS risks to the lowest level practicable in collaboration and in alignment with cross functional teams. Set objectives in line with corporate and national guidelines and monitor through the year. Ensure corrective actions implementation for non-conformities.

- Key member of PLT (Plant Leadership Team) to drive EHS initiative and meet 100% EHS compliance. Safety

- To strengthen the Safety, Healths Environment Management system.

- To ensure 100% statutory compliances related to EHS.

- Involve in setting goals and objectives and monitor progress as per defined targets.

- To continuously review and improve the Risk Register (HIRA and aspect impact) with focus and action on bringing down the risk ratings.

- To formulate, deploy and create awareness on Emergency Response Plan and other safety procedures.

- To prepare and conduct all safety related trainings for the employees across the levels including contract employees.

- Ensure strict adherence to LOTO-TO, work permits System especially for the Hot work, Height work, Electrical work, Confined space work and plant start-up s shut down.

- To conduct mock drill at regular interval to create awareness and check effectiveness of the procedure.

- Conduct daily GEMBA walks of shop floor areas, interact with shop floor employees and identify improvement opportunities.

- To drive safety culture through safety kaizen, promoting zero harm (UA, UC s NM) reporting, replicating good safety practices and learnings from incidents.

- Maintenance and monitoring of Fire s Safety equipment including Fire water pump, hydrant, hose pipes, fire extinguishers, lift/hoist, Pressure Vassal s other equipment s keep up dated testing reports with regular trial of the same.

- Ensure proper recordkeeping of documentations related to EHS. Environment:

- Ensure effective operations of the ETP, STP, RO and MEE Plants.

- To support in driving water and sustainability Initiatives efficiently and effectively at the unit.

- Lead Environmental Monitoring of the plant though third parties.

- Liaising with statutory authorities.

Key result area (KRA) Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1 Subject Matter Expert - Excellent skills in execution of EHS initiatives at shop floor.

- Act as the EHS subject matter expert and drive the compliance, operations of water and wastewater treatment system, Process Hazard Analysis, Inspection and auditing of the system

- Provide in-depth knowledge support on all EHS related legal s statutory like the factories act s rules, the environment protection acts, the hazardous waste management rules

- Collaborate with cross-function team to drive EHS initiatives

- Support the WTP/ETP/STP - OsM team for day-to-day operation

- Guide the factory team to showcase the development of EHS in external competitions

- Drive the factory to achieve ZERO SAFETY INCIDENT

- Capability Development - Coordinate with PLT to lead, train and develop members at the site on all the EHS activities

- Ensure that all employees are inducted, as per the safety procedures

- Identify the training needs of employees as per the training matrix and liaise with managers to nominate staff for training courses

- Organise awareness campaigns like Road Safety Week, National Safety Week, Fire Service Week, World Environment Day etc.

- Drive Rewards and Recognition to develop a safe culture among the workforce

- Co-ordinate the unit safety committee meetings

Key result area (KRA) Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Accountabilities - Devise a plan to reduce the high-level risk identified in the hazard analysis.

- Control all risks associated with non-routine through a permit to work system.

- Contractor Management including Projects- guide in implementing systems for identification, induction and access control working closely with the contractors' representatives.

- Manage plant modifications/projects through a change management system which includes pre and post safety audits.

- Train and implement for effective usage of LOTO-TO system for all types of energies.

- Ensures proper operation and control of all wastewater treatment and recycling systems, for comprehensively abiding with statutory regulations

- Periodical Review - Legal compliance tracker review and countermeasures for the gaps identified on monthly basis.

- Lead the comprehensive safety audits for the factory.

- Management Information System (MIS): KPI - leading s lagging indicator of EHS function on weekly, monthly and annually and present to the top management.

- Conduct various EHS inspections and audits on theme-based like PPE audit, machine guard audit, Interlocks audit, Permit audit, LOTO-TO etc.

- Conduct mock drills on the various scenarios to check healthiness of emergency system and response of people.

4 Documentation - Compiles EHS documentation as per the EHS Manual requirements for the facility and keeps readily accessible to process employees and management. Keeps updated on an annual basis.

- Maintains all records as are necessary relating to Zero harm, first aid, Medical Treatment cases, Loss time Injury, Disabling Injury, and Fatality.

Credentials:


Qualifications / Certifications Essential:

- Bachelor of Engineering or Technology

- Post Graduation Diploma in industrial safety or safety health and environment from a recognized University / Institution

- Qualify to work as Safety Officer in the state

Desirable - NEBOSH IGC / iDip in Occupational safety and health

Knowledge Essential:

- Lead auditor for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

- Trained for conducting HIRA / Safety Risk Assessment

- Knowledge of regulations (safety / health /environment legislation)

- Good skills in dealing with authorities s agencies

Experience Essential : 10 years' experience in EHS

Desirable - Experience in Confectionery / FMCG
