Manager / Senior Manager - Direct Procurement

A leading Consumer Durable Manufacturing organization is looking to strengthen its Direct Procurement function by hiring experienced procurement professionals to drive strategic sourcing, supplier development, cost optimization, and procurement excellence across key direct material categories. This opportunity is ideal for procurement professionals with experience in sourcing raw materials, bought-out components, packaging, electrical, mechanical, or engineered components within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies for direct material procurement.

- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing including RFIs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract management.

- Ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials and components to support manufacturing operations.

- Drive supplier development, localization, value engineering, and alternate sourcing initiatives.

- Identify opportunities for cost optimization through should-cost analysis, benchmarking, and long-term sourcing strategies.

- Build strategic supplier partnerships and implement supplier performance management frameworks.

- Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Finance, and Supply Chain teams during new product development and localization projects.

- Monitor commodity trends and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive sourcing strategies.

- Ensure procurement compliance, governance, and continuous process improvement.

Preferred Category Experience

Candidate Profile

- 8-15 years of procurement experience.

- Minimum 5 years in Direct Procurement within a manufacturing environment.

- Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, category management, and commercial negotiations.

- Strong understanding of commodity sourcing, cost structures, value engineering, and supply market dynamics.

- Experience supporting New Product Development (NPD), localization, or vendor development initiatives will be preferred.

- Strong analytical skills with commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.

- Hands-on experience with SAP MM or similar ERP platforms.

- Advanced Excel skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Educational Qualification
