Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our Financial Operations / Middle Office team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing end-to-end trade settlement processes and providing operational support across the trade lifecycle. The role requires a strong understanding of financial instruments, operational risk management, and stakeholder coordination across global markets.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage trade capture, trade validation, confirmation, and settlement across multiple asset classes such as equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives, and structured products.
- Oversee and coordinate daily trade flows, ensuring timely and accurate settlement of trades with counterparties, custodians, and clearing brokers.
- Resolve trade breaks and exceptions, proactively liaising with front office, back office, clients, and third-party vendors.
- Monitor and reconcile trade positions, cash balances, and pending settlements.
- Work closely with risk and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., T+1/T+2 settlement, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, SFTR).
- Maintain high standards of internal controls, and participate in audit, SOX testing, and compliance reviews.
- Develop and implement process enhancements and automation initiatives for operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to junior team members (for VP-level roles).
- Contribute to migration, transformation, or global roll-out projects related to middle office or settlements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 to 15 years of experience in trade settlement, trade support, or middle office operations in investment banking, asset management, or hedge funds.
- In-depth knowledge of trade lifecycle and financial products (equities, bonds, FX, OTC and listed derivatives, repos, etc.).
- Experience with trade matching/confirmation and settlement systems (e.g., Omgeo CTM/Oasys, SWIFT, DTCC, Euroclear/Clearstream, Bloomberg, Calypso, Murex, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate across global teams and clients.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume, and deadline-driven environment.
Education & Certifications:
- CA or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, NISM, or equivalent are an added advantage.
