
The Security Command Centre Manager is a pivotal role. The ideal candidate is an operational leader who can manage a 24/7 team and ensure the effective functional and technical operations. This position requires an individual who can proactively detect, analyze, and respond to incidents, safeguarding the organization's employees, assets, and reputation.
Key Responsibilities and Scope
1. Operational Leadership and Team Management
This role oversees the day-to-day frontline operations of the Security Command Centre. The manager will lead and mentor a team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Team Development: You will be responsible for sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing continuous coaching and feedback, and helping them grow. A key part of your role is to motivate and develop associates to help them achieve optimal performance.
- Work Coordination: You will coordinate work activities and adjust weekly schedules as needed to meet operational demands. You will also manage all reports, communications and advisories dispatched by the command centre to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Documentation and Compliance: You will be responsible for creating and updating the Security Command Centre Policies and Procedures. You will also ensure monthly billing accruals are accurately provided to the finance team by the required deadlines.
2. Intelligence, Crisis, and Alarm Management
The manager will lead the response to a wide range of security and operational threats. This includes detecting and analyzing adverse conditions that could impact the organization's safety, security, and continuity of operations.
- Incident Response: You will be the primary point of contact for responding to incidents and advising on adverse conditions like security alarms, political unrest, crime, vehicular movement restrictions and reputational risks. You must be able to navigate challenging situations and events effectively.
- Problem-Solving: You will identify and resolve problems in a timely manner according to established guidelines. This requires a logical and creative approach to develop solutions for both short-term and long-term command center needs.
- Strategic Protocols: You will build a strong response protocol by developing and documenting required system flows and processes.
3. Technical Operations and Audits
This role requires a strong technical understanding to ensure the continuous performance of security systems and hardware.
- System Maintenance: You will partner with solution providers to ensure 24/7 performance of the operations center. You will also perform monthly reviews and validations of Security Command Centre -managed systems, such as the incident tracker and shared drives.
- Hardware Integrity: You must have the technical knowledge to quickly identify and rectify any system issues by coordinating with relevant system integrators and software providers. This ensures all security hardware and sensors are properly maintained.
- Virtual Audits: You will ensure process compliance by conducting virtual audits remotely at various locations in Supply Chain to verify that all protocols and guidelines are being followed by the team.
