Position Overview:

- As Manager - Regulatory Compliance, you will be responsible for building, interpreting, and enforcing the regulatory compliance framework across the organisation.

- The role requires close interaction with business, legal, risk, and audit functions to ensure regulatory requirements are embedded into products, processes, and operating models.

- You will act as an internal advisor on IRDAI regulations, AML obligations, and statutory compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain the regulatory compliance framework aligned with IRDAI regulations and internal policy positions.

- Interpret regulatory guidelines and advise business functions on implementation and compliance requirements.

- Review and vet business models, internal policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and zero-tolerance compliance expectations.

- Track regulatory changes and assess their implications for business operations, products, and processes.

- Prepare compliance updates and reports for senior management, the Board, and the Audit Committee.

- File regulatory returns and submissions with regulatory authorities within prescribed timelines.

- Design and implement monitoring mechanisms to assess adherence to regulatory norms.

- Review exceptions or deviations and provide structured guidance on procedural compliance.

- Coordinate and manage IRDAI audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.

- Ensure timely closure of audit observations, regulatory actions, and compliance gaps.

- Establish and oversee the Anti-Money Laundering framework in line with statutory requirements.

- Monitor suspicious transaction alerts, ensure analysis and reporting to FIU-IND within defined timelines.

- Advise sales and business teams on AML risks associated with products, channels, and business models.

- Build organisation-wide awareness of regulatory and AML requirements through guidance and training initiatives.

Critical Success Factors:

- Accuracy and consistency in regulatory interpretation and application.

- Ability to anticipate compliance risks arising from new products or process changes.

- Effective coordination with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders.

- Timely closure of regulatory actions, audit observations, and statutory filings.

- Credibility with senior management as a compliance advisor.

Education and Experience:

- Law graduate or relevant professional qualification preferred.

- 6+ years of experience in regulatory compliance within the general insurance (preferred) or life insurance sector.

- Prior exposure to IRDAI regulations, AML frameworks, and regulatory audits is required.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

Technical Skills:

- Strong understanding of IRDAI regulations and insurance compliance requirements.

- Working knowledge of AML laws, PMLA, and FIU-IND reporting obligations.

- Experience in regulatory audits, inspections, and statutory reporting.

Professional Skills:

- Regulatory interpretation and advisory capability.

- Documentation, reporting, and policy review skills.

- Cross-functional coordination and issue resolution.
