Role Objective:
The Manager - Quality will lead the Quality function across to ensure adherence to customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal specifications. The role demands hands-on involvement in establishing and sustaining a world-class quality culture within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Quality initiatives across product lines including aerospace wiring harnesses, Connectors Assembly, Machining, Over-molding, electronic systems, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Oversee implementation and compliance of AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific standards.
- Manage the entire audit lifecycle including internal, customer, and third-party certification audits and IPCA+ assessments.
- Drive zero-defect culture through proactive Quality Assurance plans, process audits, Supplier Audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Define and implement QA strategies for new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and product qualification.
- Interface with customers for quality reviews, approvals, and complaint resolution.
- Lead Material Review Board (MRB) processes and manage non-conformance analysis, root cause identification, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop, mentor, and lead the Quality team; ensure continuous upskilling aligned to quality standards and industry advancements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, SCM, and Supplier Quality teams to meet quality goals.
- Lead PPAP, FAI, and APQP activities; ensure robust documentation and traceability for aerospace components and systems.
- Monitor and report quality metrics; drive improvements in yield, FPY (First Pass Yield), and customer satisfaction.
- Implement statistical tools and quality control techniques (SPC, MSA, 8D, 5-Why, FMEA) to improve process capability and product reliability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering - Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related disciplines.MBA /Executive education would be an advantage.
- 12-15 years of experience in Quality within aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing sectors.
- Deep knowledge of AS9100, IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL standards, and other relevant aerospace certifications.
- Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies including APQP, FMEA, PPAP, 8D, 5-Why, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Proven track record in managing customer quality expectations (domestic & international) and audit readiness.
- Experience working with OEMs and Tier 1 customers in aerospace or defense industry.
