Job Description: Manager - Purchase (Casting & Foundries)
Location: Kalyan-Bhiwandi (Arham)
Department: Purchase
Reports To: DGM - Purchase
Working days - 6 days a week (9AM- 5.30 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and finalize suppliers for casting materials.
- Develop and maintain relationships with foundries and casting suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure timely placement of Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up on deliveries.
2. Foundry Coordination & Order Management
- Work closely with foundries to ensure production schedules are met.
- Conduct regular visits to foundries for quality checks and process improvements.
- Track and expedite casting orders to ensure timely availability.
- Address production delays, quality issues, or any supply chain disruptions.
3. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure that casting materials meet required industry standards (API, ASTM, ISO, etc.).
- Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) teams to ensure materials meet specifications.
- Maintain records of quality inspections and supplier audits.
4. Cost & Inventory Management
- Optimize procurement costs through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
- Ensure proper inventory levels to prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
- Work with finance and production teams to forecast material requirements.
5. Industry Standards & Best Practices
- Keep updated on market trends, new suppliers, and technological advancements in casting procurement.
- Implement best practices in procurement and supply chain processes.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, additional qualification in Supply Chain Management.
- 8+ years of experience in casting procurement and foundry management.
- Strong knowledge of casting processes, foundry operations, and industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and cost optimization skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems for procurement and inventory management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel for vendor visits and supplier development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the valve manufacturing or heavy engineering industry.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations for raw materials.
