
Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and update the resource-loaded Primavera schedule (L3/L4) and track progress of work in collaboration with other project departments, ensuring timely reporting of status.
- Oversee cost performance and activities related to cost control; maintain and update cost control tools; prepare accurate budget forecasts.
- Generate required reports as per contractual obligations and internal project control requirements using EVM methodologies.
- Create monthly analyses and reports covering expenses, progress, budget performance, commitments, and schedule performance.
- Provide regular briefings to the Project Manager and Head Office, presenting project financials, schedule status, issues, and concerns.
- Manage change requests, contract scope adjustments, including claims, EOT (Extension of Time) requests, variation orders, and contract/sub-contract administration.
- Establish and supervise the invoicing process, ensuring its proper implementation.
- Lead risk management and schedule risk analysis efforts, both internally and with clients; identify, communicate risks, areas of concern, and propose mitigation plans.
- Adhere to established Project Controls processes and the company's policies and procedures.
- Support the professional development of the Project Controls team members.
- Identify and share lessons learned to facilitate ongoing improvement in project performance and company operations.
- Cultivate and actively maintain positive relationships with Employer's and Engineer's representatives.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) for project control and monitor these metrics throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the development and implementation of project control strategies and methodologies that align with industry best practices.
- Participate in project meetings and reviews to provide insights on project performance, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits of project data to ensure accuracy and consistency across all project control tools and systems.
- Provide guidance to project teams on the proper use of project control tools, systems, and processes.
- Support the integration of project control activities with other project functions such as engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Controls department to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in related fields and PMP certification would be highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 18 years' experience, including at least 8 years in a Project Control Manager position with contractors, in roles related to Project Controls, engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction execution for large, complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills, command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Experience in large-scale oil/gas and petrochemical capital projects (Process Plant / Pipeline) and turnarounds.
- Demonstrated ability to execute and enhance organizational control processes and procedures.
- In-depth experience in construction planning, scheduling, monitoring cost control, estimating, budget preparation, and contractual awareness.
- Proven ability to create critical milestones for construction stages in tender documents.
- Proficiency in facilitating risk assessment, mitigation, and contingency planning for projects.
- Strong skills in managing contract administration activities and other relevant administrative procedures.
- Experience working with advanced project management software tools, such as MS Office , Primavera P6, and similar tools.
- Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) principles and their practical application in project control.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and practices related to project controls and management.
- Proven experience in analyzing complex project data to extract meaningful insights and trends.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, particularly in the context of contract and scope changes.
- Demonstrates innovative problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, consistent deadline achievement, technical competence, adaptability in diverse cultural environments, and strong interpersonal and team-building abilities.
- Strong leadership skills that foster team growth, cohesiveness, productivity, accountability, and achievement of project objectives.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior project control staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
