Description:

Key Responsibilities:


- Daily P&L & Balance Sheet Control


- Supervise the timely production and review of daily P&L reporting for the Europe region.


- Oversee P&L for key products including:


- Money Market Loans & Deposits


- Rates (Bonds, Swaps)


- FX Products


- Government Bonds & T-Bills


- Fixed Deposits, Certificates of Deposit


- Debt Issuances and associated hedges (IRS, CCS, FX Swaps, Commodities, etc.)


- Monitor key controls and processes surrounding daily P&L and balance sheet reporting.


- Ensure all controls are executed and reviewed within defined timelines.


- Review daily P&L trends, investigate variances, and provide insights on forecast gaps and opportunities.


Month-End Activities:


- Review month-end reconciliations between trade processing systems and the General Ledger.


- Review balance sheet substantiation of Product Controlowned traded balances.


- Support month-end accounting processes and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial results.


Hedge Accounting & IAS Compliance:


- Deliver hedge accounting and control enhancement workstreams.


- Assist in implementing standardized controls and processes globally, ensuring alignment with International Accounting Standards (IAS).


- Provide support for IAS-related queries, including hedge effectiveness testing and documentation.


Stakeholder Management:


- Liaise effectively with key internal and external stakeholders, including:


- Middle Office


- IT


- Operations


- External Audit


- Financial Controllers


- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of issues.


- Act as the primary point of contact for the business and Local Finance teams regarding product-class-specific matters.


Process Advisory & Booking Models:


- Advise Middle Office and Front Office on deal structures, accounting implications, and optimal booking model design.


- Ensure consistency of booking logic across Global Markets Transaction Processing Systems.


Qualification & Experience:


- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 4 years of post-qualification experience.


- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Product Control.


- Strong knowledge of financial products, accounting standards, and control frameworks.


- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
