As the Procurement Manager for Raw Materials (RM) and Packaging Materials (PM), you will lead sourcing, procurement, and vendor development to ensure uninterrupted material availability at the right cost, time, and quality. This role requires strong commercial acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and a high degree of execution excellence to support both ongoing production and new product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a robust vendor base for raw materials and packaging materials, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and service expectations.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply while optimizing cost and mitigating supply risks.
- Collaborate with R&D and NPD teams to onboard new vendors for innovative raw materials and packaging solutions.
- Lead price negotiations, manage contracts, and drive cost-saving initiatives across the procurement portfolio.
- Establish procurement KPIs (OTIF, lead time, cost, inventory health) and conduct regular performance reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement best practices in vendor evaluation, material planning, and purchase order management.
- Track market trends for key materials to anticipate price movements and support accurate budgeting.
- Ensure full compliance with quality standards, food safety norms, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive digitization and process optimization through ERP platforms and procurement tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain; MBA preferred.
- 6-8 years of experience in RM/PM Procurement, ideally within Food, FMCG, or Manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management capabilities.
- Proven ability to lead procurement projects and influence cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with procurement software is an advantage.
- Deep understanding of RM/PM specifications, quality norms, and food safety regulations.
