Manager - Primary Logistics/Transportation - FMCG

Description:

Responsible for driving end-to-end transportation and logistics operations across a Pan-India network, ensuring optimal service levels, cost efficiency, and a robust transportation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage primary transportation operations ensuring timely dispatches and truck availability

- Lead freight spend management, annual budgeting, and cost optimization initiatives

- Drive contracting and commercial negotiations with transporters

- Develop and implement transport strategies, route optimization & multimodal solutions

- Monitor logistics KPIs on-time delivery, placement index, damages, and cost metrics

- Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to safety standards

- Analyze logistics data and drive continuous improvement initiatives

- Build and manage vendor/transport partner ecosystem

- Collaborate with sales, warehouse, finance, and operations teams

- Drive adoption of TMS, SAP, and analytics-driven decision-making

Candidate Profile :

- Full-Time MBA (mandatory) from reputed institutes

- 6 to 10 years post-MBA experience in logistics/transportation

- Strong experience in primary logistics, freight negotiations & spend management

- Exposure to consumer goods/FMCG industry preferred

- Strong analytical skills (Advanced Excel) & ERP/SAP exposure

- Proven stakeholder management & execution capability

- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
