Organization: Choice International Limited (Public Sector Consulting Division).

Location: Mumbai.

Experience Required: Relevant 5-8 Years in IT/ICT Tech Consulting, IT Infrastructure Solutions/Presales.

Role Overview:

The Manager IT Presales (IT Infrastructure) will serve as the subject matter expert responsible for designing, sizing, and documenting the hardware, network, and security infrastructure components of large-scale IT and e-Governance solutions.

This role is crucial for transforming functional requirements from government tenders into viable, scalable, and accurately costed technical architectures, ensuring Choice International's bids are technically compliant and commercially competitive.

Key Responsibilities:


- Hardware Solution Architecture & Sizing (Primary Focus).

- Infrastructure Design: Lead the end-to-end technical design and documentation of the IT infrastructure for solutions such as Data Digitization Systems (e., PACS computerization), Public Financial Management Systems, and GIS-based platforms.

- Capacity Planning & Sizing: Conduct detailed hardware sizing calculations for compute (servers), storage (SAN/NAS), backup systems, and high-availability/Disaster Recovery (DC/DR) setups based on transaction loads, user counts, and data growth projections defined in the FRS/SRS.

- Should have exposure to solution designing of/with Workstation, Server, Storage, Telco, Network, e-Gov solutions etc.

- Network Architecture: Design secure and scalable Network Architectures, including LAN/WAN, firewall specifications, telecommunication links, and on-field connectivity for remote project implementations (e., Jal Jeevan Mission, Field Surveys).

Costing, Procurement & Proposal Management:


- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and detailed costing estimations for all hardware, licensing, networking, and security elements, working closely with the commercial team.

- Technical Bid Preparation: Author the infrastructure-specific sections of the technical proposals, including Technical Solution Architecture (TSA) diagrams, high-level and low-level designs, ensuring 100% compliance with government tender specifications.

- Hardware Procurement Lifecycle: Define and draft the technical specifications for hardware procurement tenders, manage the technical evaluation of vendor offers, and advise on postdeployment warranty and AMC management strategies.

Client Engagement & Technical Advocacy:


- POC and Demonstrations: Design and execute Proof of Concepts (POCs) and technical demonstrations to government client stakeholders, showcasing the viability and scalability of the proposed infrastructure solution.

- Interfacing: Act as the technical interface between the core software development team, the procurement department, and external hardware/ICT suppliers.

- Technology Scouting: Evaluate and recommend new IT infrastructure tools and platforms appropriate for government-grade operations (e., Cloud readiness, data center technologies).

- Being able to support the various initiatives to shape the requirements in a partnership manner with the other departments and projects, providing guidance, methodology and tools.

- RFP Tender: Understanding and experience in contributing in RFP designing and drafting SoW in tenders and proposals etc.

Others:


- Understanding on information security levels on network, infrastructure and servers.

- Management of the on-site support.

- Liaison with ICT suppliers: manage, lead, propose.

- Responsible for technical equipment & IT infrastructure operational status (hardware, servers, Wi-Fi, Network, Telecommunication etc.

- Create requirements /RFPs/solution documents for IT needs during events.

- Evaluate offers from vendors centres.

- Negotiate with suppliers.

- Creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT-related tasks.

- Technical interface between internal users and various IT suppliers.

- Evaluation of new IT tools and platforms when appropriate.

- Good experience in MS Word, PowerPoint & Excel tools (Mandatory).

- Added advantage if experience in Technical Paper, Whitepaper writings.
