MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Job Summary:


The Senior Associate Middle Office Operations (Fixed Income and Equity) will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of trade capture, reconciliations and break management processes for the firms bond, repo and equity trading activities. The role requires an experienced professional with deep product knowledge of fixed income and equity, and an excellent understanding of trade lifecycle processes within a hedge fund or investment management environment. The successful candidate will also lead a small team of analysts, providing oversight, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight


- Delivery of daily trade reconciliations for fixed income and equity products


- Manage the identification and timely resolution of trade and cash breaks, escalating where necessary


- Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and operational procedures


- Partner with global counterparts to ensure consistency in process and reporting


- Work closely with onshore team to deliver the team road map, including long term strategy, controls and governance

Team Leadership


- Lead and mentor a team of 23 analysts, ensuring strong technical and operational performance


- Be the first point of escalation for the offshore team and responsible for the oversight of daily tasks


- Support ongoing training, career development, and knowledge sharing within the team


- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

Process Improvement & Controls


- Review and refine existing workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk


- Support implementation of process automation and control initiatives


- Participate in testing and implementation of new systems and workflow tools

Stakeholder Engagement


- Collaborate with global Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to maintain accurate data and timely reporting


- Serve as the key point of contact for fixed income and equity operations in India


- Communicate updates, risks, and process improvements to senior management

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

Essential


- 78 years of experience in middle office or operations roles within financial markets.


- Hands-on experience in fixed income and equity products including knowledge of CTM/Traiana


- Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle, reconciliations and break management


- Excellent understanding of hedge fund workflows including interaction with Prime Brokers/Clearing Brokers


- Proven experience leading or supervising small teams


- Excellent attention to detail and control mindset

Desirable Experience


- Familiarity with trade capture and reconciliation systems such as Gresham or Murex


- Exposure to process automation, data analytics, or workflow tools


- Advanced Excel


- Prior experience in a hedge fund or asset management firm
