About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Jewelry Merchandising Manager to drive merchandise planning and category performance. The role will be responsible for developing the right product assortment, managing OTB, optimizing inventory and ensuring product availability in line with business and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive assortment planning across categories, collections, price points and channels.
- Develop and manage OTB (Open-to-Buy) plans aligned with sales, margin and inventory targets.
- Prepare seasonal and monthly merchandise plans based on business objectives and category trends.
- Analyze sales, sell-through, WOS, stock cover, inventory ageing and stock availability.
- Drive JIT (Just-in-Time) inventory planning and replenishment to maintain optimum stock levels.
- Identify assortment gaps and opportunities based on customer preferences, trends and performance data.
- Optimize product mix, depth, width and inventory investment across categories.
- Monitor category performance and take corrective actions to improve sales, margins and inventory productivity.
- Work closely with Buying, Design, Supply Chain, Retail, E-commerce and Business teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Conduct regular MIS and performance reviews and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Support new collection launches and ensure timely availability of merchandise.
- Drive inventory efficiency while maintaining high product availability and minimizing excess/aged stock.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of Jewelry Merchandising and Retail Planning
- Expertise in Assortment Planning and OTB Management
- Strong knowledge of Inventory Planning, Replenishment and JIT
- Analytical and data-driven approach
- Understanding of Sales, Margin, Sell-through and Stock Turn metrics
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience in Jewelry / Fashion / Lifestyle Retail
- Prior experience handling merchandise planning and category-level responsibilities
- Candidates with experience in managing OTB, assortment and inventory planning will be preferred.
