Role: Manager Logistics

Location: Kolkata

Function: Supply Chain & Logistics

Purpose: Manage and continuously improve Warehousing and Transportation operations to deliver High customer service levels, Operational excellence, Productivity and Cost efficiency while ensuring the highest standards of EHS compliance, Process discipline, Vendor performance and Capability development across the logistics network.

Customer Service & Order Fulfilment:

- Drive processes and operating mechanisms to consistently achieve defined customer service level targets and OTIF.

- Strengthen execution processes to ensure timely order fulfilment and adherence to agreed customer requirements.

- Develop and implement systems and performance mechanisms to track logistics execution and service performance.

- Establish and standardize logistics operating processes and ensure effective implementation across field locations.

Warehousing operations:

- Drive continuous improvement in warehouse operations with focus on service, productivity, quality, safety and cost.

- Ensure warehouses deliver required service levels while optimizing operating costs and resource utilization.

- Drive productivity improvement of MHE Operators, Supervisors and Warehouse Labour through defined productivity norms, work measurement, performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Establish and monitor productivity KPIs such as output per man-hour, MHE utilisation, manpower utilisation and adherence to standard operating norms.

- Establish mechanisms for independent / periodic audits covering warehouse hygiene, inventory accuracy, process adherence, EHS and operational controls.

Transportation:

- Continuously review and strengthen the transportation vendor base to ensure adequate capacity, competitiveness and service reliability.

- Analyse transportation performance branch-wise / location-wise and establish benchmarks for cost, service, vehicle utilisation, turnaround time and vendor performance.

- Identify opportunities for route, vehicle type, FDOS optimisation to improve asset turnaround and reduce logistics cost.

- Provide analytical tools, benchmarks and expertise to field teams for transportation optimisation.

Productivity and Cost Optimisation:

- Drive a structured productivity improvement agenda across transportation and warehousing operations.

- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance manpower productivity, MHE operator efficiency, and overall warehouse asset utilization.

- Establish productivity benchmarks, monitor performance against defined standards and drive accountability for results.

Capability Building of the Operations Team:

- Build a performance-oriented culture focused on service, productivity, safety, cost and continuous improvement.

- Identify capability and training requirements for the Logistics Operations team.

- Develop and implement structured training modules for warehouse, transportation and field logistics teams.
