Manager - Logistics - Consumer Packaged Goods

This role requires a strong blend of transportation expertise, commercial acumen, and data-driven decision-making to drive efficiency, cost optimization, and service excellence.

Role Overview:

- Own and manage end-to-end primary transportation operations across India

- Lead freight strategy, annual rate negotiations, and transporter contracting

- Ensure timely truck placement, dispatch planning, and transit adherence

- Drive logistics cost optimization through route planning, load optimization, and modal shifts (rail/multimodal)

- Build and manage a robust transporter network across key lanes and regions

- Monitor and improve key KPIs such as on-time delivery, placement index, transit losses, and cost per ton/km

- Partner with Sales, Warehousing, and Finance teams for demand planning and execution alignment

- Leverage TMS, SAP, and analytics tools for performance tracking and continuous improvement

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Full-time MBA from a premier institute.

- 6-10 years of post-MBA experience, with strong exposure to transportation/logistics in FMCG or high-volume distribution businesses

Proven experience in:

- Freight negotiations & contract management

- Transporter/vendor development and performance management

- Route & network optimization across geographies

- Logistics cost control and budgeting

- Strong analytical capability with hands-on expertise in Advanced Excel, MIS, and data-driven decision-making

- Working knowledge of SAP / ERP / Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

- Excellent stakeholder management and execution skills in fast-paced environments
