
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate liability and cyber risks based on client information, financials, risk management practices, security controls, industry exposure, and historical claims experience.
- Assess the client's cybersecurity posture, including controls around data protection, network security, business continuity, access management, incident response, and ransomware preparedness.
- Underwrite Cyber Liability and other liability risks in accordance with the company's underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, authority limits, and governance framework.
- Analyze risk information and determine appropriate coverage, terms, conditions, deductibles, limits, exclusions, and pricing.
- Structure insurance programs and provide commercially viable underwriting solutions based on risk assessment and prevailing market conditions.
- Review complex and non-standard risks and provide appropriate underwriting recommendations.
- Monitor portfolio performance, risk accumulation, claims trends, pricing adequacy, and emerging exposures.
- Maintain awareness of evolving cyber threats, including ransomware, data breaches, business interruption, social engineering fraud, phishing, and other cyber-related incidents.
- Keep abreast of changes in regulations, market practices, policy wordings, emerging risks, and competitor offerings within the liability and cyber insurance market.
- Collaborate closely with brokers, clients, claims teams, risk engineering/technical teams, actuarial/pricing teams, and other internal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients while ensuring underwriting discipline and adherence to risk appetite.
- Support portfolio growth through sound underwriting practices while maintaining appropriate risk-adjusted profitability.
- Provide guidance and technical support to underwriting team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing and capability development.
- Participate in development and refinement of underwriting guidelines, processes, risk assessment frameworks, and product propositions.
- Ensure timely completion of underwriting activities, documentation, referrals, and approvals in accordance with internal processes.
Skills:
- Good understanding of cyber security framework.
- Familiar with cyber risks viz ransomware, data breaches, social engineering fraud etc.
- Good analytical, negotiation and communication skill.
Education:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree preferably, in Insurance & Risk management.
