Avant Garde is hiring a Manager - Legal, Data Protection & Privacy for a leading Financial Markets Infrastructure organisation.

Location: Mumbai

Experience: Minimum 8 - 10 years

Reporting to: General Counsel

Candidates must be willing to relocate to another company office on an ad-hoc or permanent basis if required.

Mandatory fit:

- B.A. LL.B. with hands-on, end-to-end data-privacy framework implementation experience covering the DPDP Act and Rules, GDPR, cross-border data transfers, data-processing agreements and vendor agreements. Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation and team-management capability is essential.

- Preferred: LL.M. or relevant corporate/commercial, cyber-law or information-technology-law coursework. Knowledge of CERT-IN directions, sectoral data-retention and confidentiality requirements, cyber resilience, data localisation, consent architecture and breach-notification protocols is valuable.

Key responsibilities:

- DPDP/GDPR and sectoral impact assessment

- Monitoring Data Protection Board, RBI, MeitY and CERT-IN guidance

- Technology-risk evaluation

- Vendor and data-sharing agreement review

- Privacy policies, consent forms and terms of use

- Breach-response and reporting advice

- Support to the General Counsel.
