
L&D Manager - (IT/ITes)
Description:
- The L&D Manager will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling the end-to-end Learning & Development function for the organization.
- The role requires strong capability in technical and functional skill-gap assessment, LMS/LXP-driven learning ecosystems, and setting up structured L&D processes from scratch to support business growth in an IT/ITES environment.
- This role will partner closely with business leaders, technology teams, and HR stakeholders to create future-ready capabilities across technical, functional, and digital domains.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Learning Strategy & Capability Framework
- Design and own the enterprise L&D strategy aligned to business goals and technology roadmap.
- Build role-based competency frameworks for technical, functional, and behavioral skills across IT/ITES roles.
- Define learning roadmaps for critical roles and emerging skills.
2. Technical & Functional Skill-Gap Assessment
- Conduct organization-wide skill-gap assessments using competency frameworks, assessments, and stakeholder inputs.
- Map current vs. future capabilities across engineering, delivery, operations, and support functions.
- Identify critical skill gaps in technology, digital, and domain capabilities and recommend learning interventions.
3. End-to-End L&D Process Design (From Scratch)
- Design and implement end-to-end L&D processes including:
- Needs analysis
- Program design & development
- Delivery models (classroom, virtual, blended)
- Evaluation and ROI measurement
- Establish standard operating models, governance, and metrics for L&D.
4. LMS / Digital Learning / LXP Management
- Lead the selection, implementation, and governance of LMS / digital LMS / LXP platforms.
- Curate and manage digital learning content including technical courses, certifications, and vendor platforms.
- Track learning analytics, adoption, completion, and impact using dashboards and reports.
5. Program Design & Delivery
- Design and roll out learning programs for:
- Technical upskilling and reskilling
- Functional and domain training
- Manage internal SMEs, external trainers, and learning partners.
6. Stakeholder Management & Business Alignment
- Partner with business heads, delivery leaders, and HR business partners to align learning priorities with business needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor on capability development and workforce readiness.
7. Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track learning effectiveness metrics (Kirkpatrick model, ROI, business impact).
- Continuously improve learning offerings based on feedback, usage data, and business outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience
- ~8 years of experience in Learning & Development, preferably within an IT / ITES / technology-driven organization.
- Hands-on experience in building L&D frameworks and processes from scratch.
- Strong exposure to technical and functional capability development.
Technical / Functional Skills
- Expertise in skill-gap analysis and competency mapping.
- Hands-on experience with LMS, digital LMS, and/or LXP platforms.
- Understanding of IT/ITES roles, technologies, delivery models, and digital skills.
Behavioral & Leadership Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and consulting mindset.
- Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-growing environments.
- Data-driven approach to learning impact and effectiveness.
- Excellent communication and program management skills.
Education
- Bachelors degree required; Masters in HR, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
- Certifications in L&D, instructional design, or digital learning platforms are an added advantage.
