The incumbent would be responsible for: 1. Procedural and legal compliance relating to various indirect tax legislation 2. Supporting the Tax head on indirect tax litigations (Indirect tax-Excise, VAT, Service tax, CST, customs laws, GST). 3. Maintaining all records, accounting, filing and interacting with the relevant departments, either directly or through consultants. 4. Accounting hygiene and review of schedules pertaining to indirect taxes. 5. Working closely with consultants pertaining to matters related to indirect taxes as they relate to the company. Landing GST related compliances with the help of an established consulting firm for all States across the Country 6. Delivering projects relating to an area of indirect taxes. 7. Actively participating in initiatives which result from changes in processor changes in the environment in the area of indirect taxes. 8. Working closely with building preparedness for the company's position in the event of any proceedings, litigations or such association 9. Completion of Excise and VAT- business Audits for past years 10. Working with the ASP/ GSP for the monthly filing of GST returns 11. Leading Govt Audits for past years Accountabilities Tax Accounting - Preparing periodic tax returns to ensure that they are accurately calculated and reported in accordance with government regulatory agencies. Tax policies, procedures and reporting - Responsible for procedural compliances. - Filing of returns, payments of taxes, maintenance of the statutory fiscal report. - Working together with Financial Services Manager and Financial Controller for processes related to tax and fiscal compliances. - Export formalities and execution of tax projects. Tax Planning and Reporting - Direct and control the identification, research and advice on opportunities and methods available to minimize the Company indirect tax expense consistent with the respective laws and overall corporate objectives - Ensure tax planning opportunities are fully exploited and supporting policies are documented. - Taxation planning to minimise indirect tax exposure and maximise available opportunities is to be executed within the context of maintaining the Company's status as a good corporate citizen. Working with the business team on the indirect tax impact of various decisions - pricing, consumer promotions, etc - Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement. Qualification &amp; Experience: - CA with 4-6years of post-qualification experience in handling indirect taxation - Experience of working in a MNC in FMCG/Consumer Durables/Manufacturing/Pharmaceuticals industry
