Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) / Lawyer / Dual-Qualified Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Manager with expertise in GST, Customs, Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), and erstwhile indirect tax laws. The ideal candidate will independently handle advisory, litigation, compliance, and client management while leading business development initiatives and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

- Handle GST reviews and shadow audits independently.

- Draft legal opinions on GST, Customs, FTP, and erstwhile indirect tax laws.

- Prepare and finalize replies to memos/show cause notices, appeals, and AAR applications.

- Represent clients before adjudicating authorities including CESTAT/GSTAT.

- Draft petitions before High Courts and the Supreme Court.

- Brief Senior Counsels on complex matters and support litigation strategy.

- Independently manage client queries and provide strategic tax solutions.

- Drive business development, manage client relationships, and pursue new opportunities.

- Assist in preparing client meeting decks, fee schedules, and retainer agreements.

- Guide and mentor junior team members to meet deliverables and organizational goals.

- Contribute to knowledge building and ensure compliance with regulatory updates.

Required Skillsets:

- Strong technical knowledge of GST, Customs, FTP, and indirect tax framework.

- Proven expertise in tax litigation, drafting petitions, and representing clients.

- Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and presentation abilities for client and counsel interactions.

- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines with attention to detail.

- Proficiency in managing audits, reviews, and compliance processes.

- Business development acumen with client relationship management experience.
