1. Payroll Operations:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees (on-roll, contractual, consultants).
- Ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Validate attendance, leave records, and variable pay inputs before payroll run.
- Manage full & final settlements for exited employees.
2. Compliance & Statutory Management:
- Ensure adherence to all statutory compliances - PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Income Tax (TDS), LWF, and Gratuity.
- File monthly, quarterly, and annual returns with relevant authorities.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes affecting payroll and update processes accordingly.
- Coordinate with auditors for payroll-related audits and provide required reports/documentation.
3. Data Management & Reporting:
- Maintain and update employee payroll records accurately.
- Generate and share payroll MIS reports (cost analysis, variance, headcount, overtime, etc.) with management.
- Ensure secure handling of payroll data and confidentiality of employee information.
4. Process Improvement & Systems Management:
- Implement automation or software solutions to streamline payroll operations.
- Review and enhance payroll policies, processes, and controls for efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams for integration between payroll and accounting systems (e.g., journal entries, reconciliations).
5. Employee Support & Communication:
- Address employee queries related to payslips, deductions, and taxation.
- Educate employees about payroll processes and statutory benefits.
- Foster transparent communication on compensation and payroll-related matters.
