Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the General Ledger team to ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. - Own and optimize GL processes including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), internal controls, and audit requirements. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, FP&A, Tax, Treasury) to resolve accounting issues and streamline workflows. - Drive BPM initiatives to automate and standardize GL processes across entities and geographies. - Review and approve complex accounting entries and reconciliations. - Support statutory audits and internal audits with relevant documentation and analysis. - Monitor KPIs and SLAs for GL operations and implement corrective actions where needed. - Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Qualifications & Experience: - 1214 years of experience in GL accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. - Proven expertise in managing large-scale GL operations in a shared services or BPM environment. - Strong knowledge of accounting standards, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and reporting tools. - Experience in process transformation, automation (RPA), and continuous improvement. - Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Attributes: - Experience in BFSI, ITES, BPM or multinational environments. - Exposure to global accounting practices and multi-entity consolidation. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed organization. - Passion for driving operational excellence and team development.
