Role Overview - Manager, GBS Advisory
As a Manager in the GBS Advisory practice, you will lead discrete workstreams and mid-to-large GBS engagements, owning delivery quality, team management, and client interactions.
You will work closely with Partners, as well as cross-functional teams and global member firms, contributing to both client delivery and practice development.
Key Responsibilities:
GBS Strategy & Operating Model Design:
- Support and co-lead GBS strategy and business case development
- Develop detailed value cases covering cost, productivity, talent, and scalability
- Support location assessments, workforce planning, and feasibility analysis
Target Operating Model & Transition Delivery:
- Design key components of GBS Target Operating Models (governance, service scope, sourcing)
- Lead transition workstreams across Finance, HR, Procurement, IT, Analytics, and Digital
- Manage knowledge transfer, stabilization, and service performance tracking
Digital & Analytics Enablement:
- Apply analytics, process mining, and automation concepts within GBS and Outsourcing programs
- Work with digital and AI teams to embed technology into delivery models
Stakeholder & Team Leadership:
- Manage client stakeholders at senior manager / director level
- Lead and drive Steering Committee and Governance meetings
- Lead project teams (5-15 members), ensuring quality, timelines, and outcomes
- Coordinate with internal teams across functions and geographies
Practice Development:
- Contribute to RFPs, solutioning, and proposal development
- Support IP creation, thought leadership, and capability building
Note: This role involves extensive domestic and international travel.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 7-10 years of consulting or transformation experience
- Bachelor's degree from Tier 1 college / Chartered Accountant; Masters / MBA preferred
- Strong experience in GBS / shared services / outsourcing strategy, design, and transition management
- Exposure to large-scale, multi-functional transformation programs
- Experience managing teams and client workstreams
- Ability to work effectively across functions, geographies, and internal teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Experience in executing technology-led transformation programs
- Ability to develop point of views and contribute to thought leadership
- Expertise in one or more shared services functions such as Finance, HR, Procurement, or IT operations
- Exposure to vendor management strategy and operations is a plus
- Ability to act as a subject matter expert in relevant areas - solutions, functions, or sectors
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to mentor consultants and junior team members
- Exposure to technologies such as AWS, Azure, Data Analytics, Automation, and Engineering tools is a plus
