Job Title: Manager Fund Accounting
Department: Fund Accounting
Reporting To: COO
Job Purpose
The Manager Fund Accounting is responsible for overseeing day-to-day fund accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely NAV computation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The role involves managing a team of fund accountants, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external service providers, and contributing towards operational excellence and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fund Accounting Oversight
- Oversee preparation and review of NAV, fund valuations, financial statements, performance reports, and investor reporting for multiple funds.
- Ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts, including reconciliation of investment positions and cash balances.
- Monitor accounting and reporting processes to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
2. NAV & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review NAV calculations, including management fee and performance fee computations.
- Conduct fund performance analysis and share reports with investors and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in line with agreed timelines and service standards.
3. Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure all fund accounting activities adhere to regulatory requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Prepare and review regulatory filings, tax reports, and other compliance-related documentation.
- Liaise with auditors and compliance teams during audits and regulatory reviews.
4. Process Improvement & Controls
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop, update, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and operational robustness.
5. Stakeholder Management & Coordination
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, compliance teams, external fund administrators, RTAs, and auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Communicate complex accounting concepts and financial information clearly to stakeholders across levels.
6. Project Management
- Lead or participate in special projects including system upgrades, process enhancements, and integration initiatives related to fund accounting.
7. Problem Resolution
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, errors, and operational issues in a timely manner.
- Provide analytical support for resolving complex fund accounting queries and exceptions.
Qualifications
- Education: CA / MBA / Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification preferred.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in fund accounting or related financial management roles.
