Manager - Founders Office/Strategy/Operations & Special Projects - Apparel & Fashion

Talengage.3 - 6 yrs.Delhi NCR

About the Role:

The Founders' Office works directly with the Managing Director on some of the company's most important strategic, operational and growth initiatives.

This is a broad, high-ownership role rather than a position confined to a single function. The individual will work across retail operations, merchandising, marketing, e-commerce, customer experience, finance, technology, people and new business initiatives.

The role is suited to someone who combines strong analytical ability with an operator's mindset. The successful candidate will be expected to understand business problems quickly, bring structure to ambiguous situations and work with different teams to convert ideas into measurable outcomes.

Every week may involve a different set of priorities, from improving store productivity or evaluating a new location to analysing customer behaviour, redesigning an operating process or helping launch a strategic initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic and Business Initiatives:

- Partner closely with the Managing Director on the company's key strategic and operating priorities.

- Lead high-priority initiatives from initial problem definition through analysis, implementation and review.

- Evaluate new business opportunities, growth initiatives, partnerships, formats and markets.

- Conduct market research, competitor analysis and customer analysis to support business decisions.

- Prepare structured recommendations and decision materials for the Managing Director and senior leadership.

Retail and Operating Performance:

- Work with retail and functional teams to improve store productivity, customer experience and operating efficiency.

- Analyse performance across stores, categories, designers, products, customer segments and sales channels.

- Identify operational bottlenecks and develop practical solutions in collaboration with relevant teams.

- Support projects relating to store expansion, new store launches, retail processes, inventory productivity and service standards.

- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for critical business processes.

Cross-Functional Project Management:

- Lead cross-functional projects involving Retail Operations, Merchandising, Buying, Marketing, E-commerce, Finance, Technology, Human Resources and Supply Chain.

- Establish project plans, timelines, ownership structures and measurable outcomes.

- Follow through with teams to ensure that agreed initiatives are implemented effectively.

- Identify risks, dependencies and execution gaps and escalate them appropriately.

- Act as an execution partner for initiatives requiring coordination across multiple departments.

Analytics and Management Information:

- Build dashboards, business reviews and performance reports for the Managing Director.

- Analyse business data to identify trends, exceptions and areas requiring management attention.

- Define metrics and tracking mechanisms for strategic initiatives.

- Translate complex information into clear, concise and actionable insights.

- Improve the quality, frequency and usefulness of management information across the organisation.

Transformation and Special Projects:

- Support technology, automation, artificial intelligence and process-transformation initiatives.

- Help evaluate and implement tools that improve customer experience, employee productivity and management visibility.

- Undertake special projects based on the evolving priorities of the Managing Director.

- Bring an external perspective and challenge established ways of working where improvements are possible.

Ideal Candidate:

- At least 3-6 years of relevant professional experience in a Founders Office, business operations, strategy, category management, retail operations, consulting or a comparable cross-functional role.

- Experience in a consumer, retail or operating business is strongly preferred.

- Direct exposure to retail operations, store performance, merchandising, e-commerce, supply chain or customer experience would be particularly valuable.

- Experience taking projects from analysis and planning through to on-ground implementation.

- Strong academic record, ideally with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a leading institution.

- Strong analytical capability and comfort working with business and financial data.

- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets and presentation development.

- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively with senior leaders as well as operating teams.

Why This Role Is Different:

- This is an operating role rather than an administrative Chief of Staff position. The individual will not primarily manage calendars, coordinate meetings or perform routine executive assistant responsibilities.

- The role offers direct exposure to the Managing Director and the opportunity to work on consequential business problems across one of India's leading luxury fashion retail platforms. It combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and provides an unusually broad view of how a complex consumer and retail business operates.
