FP&A Manager - Consumer Health (D2C)
Location: Bengaluru (Bellandur / ORR)
Reporting to: Founder
Experience: 2 - 4 years in FP&A, business finance, management reporting, or startup finance
Employment type: Full-time
Function: Finance / Strategy / Business Operations
The company focuses on simple, safe formulations and transparent, trustworthy consumer health products. As an early-stage, founder-led consumer health business, the FP&A Manager will play a central role in translating commercial and operational data into clear financial insights, plans, and decisions.
Role Overview:
The FP&A Manager will own the company's budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, unit economics, and financial analysis. Working directly with the Founder, the role will support decisions across growth, pricing, marketing spend, inventory, distribution, new product launches, and fundraising readiness. This is an ideal role for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-moving consumer business and wants broad exposure beyond traditional FP&A.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Forecasting:
- Build and maintain annual budgets, monthly rolling forecasts, and scenario models.
- Track performance against budget and forecast; identify variances, risks, and corrective actions.
- Develop revenue, gross-margin, contribution-margin, cash-flow, and working-capital forecasts.
- Support business planning for new SKUs, channels, cities, and growth initiatives.
Management Reporting & Founder Support:
- Prepare monthly MIS, P&L reviews, cash-flow updates, and business-performance dashboards.
- Convert financial and operational data into clear, decision-ready insights for the Founder.
- Prepare board updates, investor materials, and fundraising-related financial analyses as required.
- Maintain a reliable monthly close-and-reporting calendar with finance/accounting partners.
Commercial & Unit Economics:
- Analyse channel-level profitability across D2C, marketplaces, modern trade, pharmacy, and other distribution channels.
- Track key consumer-business metrics such as revenue growth, AOV, repeat rate, CAC, marketing efficiency, gross margin, inventory turns, and contribution margin.
- Support pricing, discounting, trade-spend, and promotion decisions with clear margin impact analysis.
- Evaluate ROI on marketing, new product launches, and channel expansion.
Business Partnering & Operations:
- Partner with sales, marketing, supply chain, product, and operations teams to collect inputs and align plans.
- Monitor inventory, procurement, fulfilment, and working-capital requirements.
- Identify cost-saving, margin-improvement, and process-improvement opportunities.
- Support implementation of better financial systems, reporting templates, and data processes as the company scales.
What We Are Looking For:
- 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in FP&A, business finance, management reporting, startup finance, consulting, investment banking, or consumer/FMCG finance.
- Strong financial modelling, Excel/Google Sheets, and analytical skills.
- Ability to build clear P&Ls, forecasts, variance analyses, and business dashboards.
- Comfort working directly with founders and senior leadership in an unstructured, fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial orientation; able to connect financial numbers with sales, marketing, supply chain, and operational drivers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to simplify complex data for decision-making.
- High ownership, attention to detail, and willingness to work hands-on in an early-stage company.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in consumer brands, FMCG, D2C, health & wellness, nutraceuticals, e-commerce, or retail.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, unit economics, cash-flow management, and investor reporting.
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems, BI tools, or financial planning tools is a plus.
- CA / CA Inter / CFA Level 1+ / MBA Finance is advantageous but not mandatory if the candidate has strong practical FP&A experience.
What Success Looks Like:
Within the first 6 - 12 months, the FP&A Manager should:
- Establish a reliable monthly budget-vs-actual and forecast process.
- Give the Founder clear visibility into revenue, margin, cash burn, marketing efficiency, and inventory health.
- Build a credible financial model for growth planning and fundraising discussions.
- Help improve decision-making on pricing, channel mix, marketing spend, and product expansion.
Why Join:
- Work directly with the Founder in a high-visibility finance and strategy role.
- Build the FP&A foundation of an early-stage consumer health brand.
- Gain exposure across finance, commercial strategy, operations, and fundraising.
- Contribute to a purpose-led business focused on safe, science-backed children's wellness products.
