The ideal candidate will possess strong technical finance skills, experience with complex financial modeling, and proven leadership capability to drive strategic financial decisions across the organization.
This role is critical in translating business operations into measurable financial outcomes and providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Focus:
Team Leadership:
- Direct and manage a team of financial analysts, providing technical guidance on complex financial models, variance analysis methodologies, and advanced data visualization techniques.
- Implement performance management systems and structured coaching plans focused on enhancing the team's proficiency in advanced FP&A tools and software (e.g., SAP BPC, Oracle Hyperion, Adaptive Planning).
- Coordinate collaborative efforts with Accounting, Sales, Operations, and IT departments to ensure seamless data flow and consistent financial goal alignment across all functional units.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the comprehensive annual budgeting cycle, developing robust and scalable budget templates, implementing zero-based budgeting (ZBB) or activity-based costing (ABC) frameworks where appropriate, and managing the organization-wide budget submission process.
- Develop and continuously refine detailed quarterly and rolling financial forecasts, leveraging statistical methods (e.g., regression analysis, time-series forecasting) to enhance predictive accuracy.
- Execute rigorous variance analysis, dissecting deviations between actual financial results, budget, and forecast down to the underlying operational drivers and providing concise narratives.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct deep-dive financial analysis on operational expenses, capital expenditures (CapEx), and product/service profitability, utilizing metrics such as Return on Investment (ROI), Net Present Value (NPV), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for investment appraisal.
- Design and maintain advanced, multi-statement financial models (Integrated P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to support strategic initiatives, M&A due diligence, and new business cases.
- Identify and quantify emerging financial trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization or revenue enhancement through sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.
Reporting:
- Generate and deliver high-impact monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of complex financial results.
- Maintain strict control over the accuracy and integrity of all reported financial data, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards and internal reporting mandates.
- Develop dashboards and automated reports for key operational and financial performance indicators (KPIs) using Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for real-time monitoring.
Process Improvement:
- Proactively identify and champion opportunities to streamline and automate core FP&A processes, leveraging technologies for data consolidation, financial modeling, and report generation efficiency.
- Establish and document best-in-class financial planning and reporting policies, controls, and governance structures to ensure transparency, scalability, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Strategic Planning:
- Act as a key financial advisor to senior management, providing data-driven recommendations that influence long-term financial strategies, resource allocation decisions, and organizational scaling plans.
- Collaborate on the development and evaluation of long-term strategic financial roadmaps, linking operational metrics directly to shareholder value creation.
Preferred Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP FICO, Oracle EBS) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) software implementation or administration.
- CFA, CA, or CPA certification (or active pursuit of certification) is highly desirable.
- Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation from large datasets to support ad-hoc analysis.
- Proven ability to work with and interpret complex data warehouses, ensuring data fidelity for financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing successful organizational change management initiatives related to new financial processes or system rollouts
