Role Overview:

Our client is a well-established business group that recently divested its business to a leading Indian Corporate at a significant valuation, delivering substantial value to its stakeholders.

Following the divestment, the Promoter has retained a significant corpus through diversified investments and is now focused on strategic capital deployment across Greenfield and Brownfield opportunities, with the objective of creating long-term value.

As part of this next phase, the Family Office is seeking a seasoned Finance Professional to take ownership of the complete financial and investment management function, working closely with the Promoter and handling the responsibilities outlined below.

We are looking for a hands-on Chartered Accountant to take ownership of Finance & Accounts across our Family Office and operating businesses.

The mandate goes beyond routine accounting and compliance. The individual will be expected to strengthen financial controls, establish disciplined monthly closing processes, build a robust MIS and reporting framework, and create a reliable single source of financial information across multiple entities.

This is an execution-oriented role suited to someone who is comfortable operating in a promoter-led environment, working across multiple entities and building processes rather than merely supervising an established finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Finance & Accounting - Operating Businesses:

- Own books of accounts and ensure timely monthly financial closure across entities

- Oversee accounts payable, receivables, banking and treasury operations

- Manage inventory accounting, costing and profitability analysis

- Prepare monthly P&L, cash flow, balance sheet and working capital MIS

- Coordinate statutory and tax audits

- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, payroll, ROC and other statutory requirements

- Strengthen accounting controls, reconciliations and financial discipline across businesses

2. Family Office Finance & MIS:

- Maintain consolidated investment records across Family Office entities

- Track investments, valuations, realised/unrealised gains and losses, distributions and corporate actions

- Build monthly and quarterly Family Office MIS covering asset allocation, liquidity, concentration, investment cash flows and related metrics

- Reconcile investment records with statements from banks, custodians, PMS managers, AIFs, AMCs and other counterparties

- Coordinate with banks, wealth managers, custodians, fund managers, advisors and other external stakeholders

3. Tax & Compliance:

- Maintain accurate capital gains and investment taxation records

- Coordinate tax computations, audits and statutory filings across entities

- Work closely with external CAs, tax advisors and consultants

- Support FEMA, ODI and overseas investment reporting/compliance requirements, wherever applicable

4. Process Building & Controls:

- Develop and document SOPs, maker-checker controls and approval matrices

- Standardise accounting and MIS formats across entities

- Improve reporting accuracy, timelines and data integrity

- Build dashboards and drive greater automation of finance processes

- Supervise, review and mentor the existing accounts team

Candidate Profile:

Mandatory:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant

- 5 - 8 years of post-qualification experience

- Strong hands-on accounting, financial reporting and statutory compliance capabilities

- Strong Excel and MIS skills

- Working knowledge of Tally/accounting systems

- Ability to independently manage multiple entities and coordinate with external professionals

Preferred:

- Experience working with promoter-led businesses, business groups or multi-entity structures

- Exposure to Family Office, investment accounting, treasury or wealth/investment reporting

- Experience in building or improving finance processes, MIS and internal controls

- Familiarity with investment products such as PMS, AIFs, mutual funds, listed securities and other financial assets

Candidate Attributes:

We are specifically looking for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, commercially aware and execution-driven. The candidate should be comfortable getting into the underlying numbers and reconciliations rather than functioning only as a reviewer or team manager.

Strong ownership, integrity, confidentiality and the ability to work directly with promoters/senior management are essential.

Ideal Candidate we wish to discuss should be from:

- Promoter-led / family-owned business groups

- Family Offices or investment offices

- Multi-entity corporate groups with centralised finance functions

- CA firms / advisory firms where the candidate has subsequently moved into an industry finance role

As this position is to be finalized within a fortnight, candidates who are fulfilling the above criteria should respond immediately clearly indicating their experience and achievements. Also mention Current CTC, Notice Period and an Early Date of Joining.
