
Job Description.
The Manager - Finance will be responsible for managing end-to-end plant finance and accounting activities, including financial planning, budgeting, product costing, MIS, inventory management, working capital and statutory compliance.
The role will serve as a key Finance Business Partner to the Plant Head and Operations leadership, providing timely financial insights, variance analysis and commercial recommendations to support business decisions, improve operational efficiency and enhance plant profitability.
The incumbent will work closely with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Quality and Operations teams to monitor manufacturing costs, identify cost-reduction opportunities, strengthen financial controls and ensure effective utilization of organizational resources.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage plant finance, accounting, budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Prepare and monitor MIS, P&L, budgets and variance analysis.
- Drive product costing, BOM costing, standard costing and cost analysis.
- Monitor material, labour, conversion and manufacturing overhead costs.
- Analyze actual vs. budget and standard vs. actual cost variances.
- Monitor inventory valuation, stock reconciliation and slow-moving/obsolete inventory.
- Control CAPEX, fixed assets and project-related financial investments.
- Manage month-end closing, financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, statutory requirements and internal controls.
- Coordinate internal, statutory and cost audits.
- Work closely with Production, SCM, Procurement, Quality and Plant Operations for cost improvement.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities and improve plant profitability.
- Ensure effective utilization of SAP/ERP, Advanced Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Lead and develop the finance team and ensure timely completion of financial deliverables.
Education & Experience:
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance with 7 - 12 years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience in automotive, auto components or manufacturing finance.
- Excellent knowledge of product costing, plant finance, budgeting and variance analysis.
- Hands-on experience with SAP FICO/CO and MS Excel preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory, CAPEX, working capital and financial controls.
- Good analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Candidates with exposure to automotive OEM/Tier-1/Tier-2 manufacturing environments will be preferred.
