Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant with Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Commerce.
Experience:
05 to 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounts, including at least 5 years in a senior role within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sector with demonstrated leadership skills.
Experience in multinational (MNC) operations preferred.
Role Purpose:
The Manager - Finance & Accounts will oversee all financial and accounting operations of the company, providing strategic and operational financial guidance to management and ensuring compliance with statutory and group requirements. The role involves leadership in accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, internal controls, treasury, audit and company secretary.
Skills: Strong understanding of Indian GAAP, IFRS, Accounting Standards and financial regulations; expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, costing, taxation and ERP systems (Ms office, Ppt, Tally, SAP, etc.); excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills.
Reporting: Dual reporting to Country Head India & (dotted - line to Group CFO abroad)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management and Reporting
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll related , and statutory reporting.
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and preparation of accurate financial statements as per Indian GAAP and Group reporting standards.
- Lead the preparation of annual financials for both calendar and financial years, including product costing, transfer pricing, and margin analysis.
- Prepare and review monthly management reports, budget vs. actual variance analysis, and support management decision-making with meaningful financial insights.
- Oversee financial reconciliations and coordination with auditors, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Develop and monitor the annual budget and forecasts in alignment with business goals.
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective measures to achieve financial targets.
- Coordinate budget reviews with department heads and ensure effective implementation.
3. Treasury and Cash Flow Management
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Oversee treasury operations, export advances, fund transfers, and effective utilization of funds.
- Liaise with banks and financial institutions for funding, letters of credit, bank guarantees, and debt servicing.
- Manage export/import payments, EDPMS/IDPMS reconciliation, FEMA, and RBI compliance.
4. Compliance and Taxation
- Ensure compliance with all financial and statutory regulations including GST, Income Tax, TDS, Transfer Pricing, FEMA, RBI, and MCA/ROC filings.
- Coordinate audits, assessments, and inspections by tax and regulatory authorities.
- Supervise Superannuation and Gratuity Trust accounting and related compliance.
- Collaborate with consultants and auditors to ensure timely completion of all filings and reports.
5. Audit and Internal Controls
- Lead statutory, internal, and cost audits, ensuring effective management of inventory and fixed assets.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and risk management processes.
- Review audit findings and implement recommended improvements.
- Maintain transparent relations with auditors and ensure timely presentation of accounts to management.
6. Costing, Inventory and Asset Management
- Oversee product costing, finished goods stock valuation, and transfer pricing documentation.
- Monitor inventory accounting, physical verification, and variance analysis.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and related reconciliations.
- Ensure cost control measures and inventory accuracy through periodic cycle counts and audits.
7. Information Technology and Systems
- Coordinate with IT for continuous improvement and standardization of ERP and MIS systems.
- Ensure implementation of finance-related software such as FAM and fintech tools to enhance automation and reporting efficiency.
- Review system controls and reporting reliability in alignment with business requirements.
8. Risk Management and Process Improvement
- Identify key financial and operational risks and implement appropriate control measures.
- Maintain and monitor a quarterly risk register and compliance framework.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes to align with evolving business and regulatory requirements.
9. Leadership and People Development
- Lead, train, and mentor the finance and IT teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Recommend training, process, or resource enhancements to improve departmental efficiency.
- Collaborate across departments to support business operations with timely financial insights and guidance.
10. Other Responsibilities
- Manage project and operational insurance, negotiate coverage, and oversee claims settlement.
- Provide MIS and other management reports to the Board and coordinate with the Company Secretary on statutory matters.
- Support management with financial strategy, control recommendations, and policy updates.
