About the Role:

We are a High-Frequency Trading (HFT) / Proprietary Trading firm seeking a qualified CA with prior experience in algorithmic trading or capital markets. The role will handle end-to-end accounting, taxation, and financial operations specific to prop trading and capital market activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Reporting:

- Maintain books of accounts as per Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS)

- Accounting for proprietary trading activities, including derivatives, equities, and other capital market instruments

- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

- Handle audit coordination (statutory, tax, internal)

Trade & P&L Reconciliation:

- Daily trade reconciliation with brokers, exchanges, and clearing corporations

- Reconciliation of P&L, margins, brokerage, exchange charges, and statutory levies

- Monitoring capital adequacy, margin utilization, and fund movements

Taxation (Direct & Indirect):

- Handling Income Tax compliance, advance tax calculations, TDS, and assessments

- GST compliance including returns, reconciliations, and notices

- Tax treatment of trading income, mark-to-market (MTM), and derivative transactions

Regulatory & Compliance Support:

- Support compliance related to capital markets and proprietary trading entities

- Liaison with auditors, tax consultants, and regulators when required

- Ensure adherence to internal controls and risk policies

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably with:

- HFT firms

- Algorithmic trading firms

- Proprietary trading desks

- Capital market or broking firms

- Strong understanding of:

- Prop trading accounting

- Capital markets & derivatives

- Trade lifecycle and settlement processes

- Advanced Excel skills; exposure to trading systems/back-office systems is a plus

- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment

Preferred Experience (Good to Have):

- Experience working with algo trading or HFT environments

- Exposure to exchange reporting (NSE/BSE/clearing corporations)

- Understanding of automation in reconciliation and reporting
