Manager - Finance/Accounts & Reporting - Telecom

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling financial projections for each business vertical (LTE, FTTH, Fibre-to-Air).

- Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and cost efficiency.

- Support strategic decision-making with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment appraisals (e.g., network expansion, CAPEX planning).

Accounts & Accounting Operations:

- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and fixed assets.

- Ensure accurate revenue recognition for multiple billing models (subscription, usage-based, enterprise contracts).

- Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.

- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

- Prepare statutory financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards (e.g. Nigerian GAAP, IFRS).

- Generate management reports (P&L by vertical, KPI dashboards, AR aging, churn financial impact).

- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance (including telecom-specific reporting).

- Maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.

ISP-Specific Financial Management:

- Track and analyze vertical-specific KPIs: ARPU, customer acquisition cost (CAC), churn rate, network utilization, CAPEX per subscriber.

- Manage inter-vertical cost allocation and transfer pricing.

- Support pricing strategy with cost-to-serve analysis for LTE, FTTH, and Fibre-to-Air services.

- Oversee billing system finance integration and revenue assurance.

Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor a small finance/accounts team.

- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Sales, and Network teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

Total Experience: 5 - 8 years

- Education: CA/ACCA.

- Experience: 5 years in finance/accounting, with at least 3 years in telecom/ISP or technology sector.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel (advanced), BI tools (Power BI/Tableau), billing systems.

- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of telecom revenue models, CAPEX-intensive infrastructure businesses, regulatory compliance.

- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, communication, leadership, and business partnering abilities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting (monthly/quarterly).

- Budget vs. actual variance within 5%.
