Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Leadership:
- Build, scale, and lead a high-performing engineering team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and career development.
- Create an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance engineering culture.
- Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support engineers in achieving their career goals.
Technical Leadership:
- Define and execute the team's engineering strategy, architecture, and technical roadmap.
- Drive technical excellence across system design, software architecture, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Balance feature delivery with technical debt reduction, platform modernization, and security improvements.
- Review architecture, design proposals, and code to ensure engineering quality.
- Provide technical guidance and actively contribute to architectural discussions and critical implementation decisions.
Product Delivery:
- Partner with Product Managers and UX Designers throughout product discovery and delivery.
- Contribute technical insights during roadmap planning, prioritization, and estimation.
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable, secure, and customer-focused software solutions.
- Drive ownership of complex technical problems from design through production.
Agile & Engineering Excellence:
- Champion Agile principles and continuously improve engineering processes.
- Promote engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps, observability, and continuous delivery.
- Establish engineering metrics to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to ensure alignment across multiple products and initiatives.
- Work closely with Product, UX, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and HR to support business objectives.
- Communicate technical direction effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
- Proven experience building engineering teams from the ground up.
- Strong experience delivering enterprise-scale software products in Agile environments.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native application development.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong execution mindset with the ability to deliver business outcomes.
