Manager - Direct Tax - CA

Purpose:

The purpose of the profile is to ensure quality service through a Senior leadership role in Direct Tax Advisory and Litigation practice covering Direct Taxation, Corporate tax, and international tax for the clients.

Education and Qualification:

- Chartered Accountant with minimum 5 years of Direct Taxation experience.

- Experience in direct tax litigation support, representation before CIT(A), Assisting Counsel for matters before Tribunal/ High Court, Supreme Court representation before authorities, international tax planning and transaction structuring, corporate tax, foreign investment consulting, Exchange control and Employee taxation matters.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in coordination and delivery of multiple projects within tight timeframe and deadline:

- Provide support in advising clients on complex tax matters.

- Help Manager lead tax engagements. Effectively manage submissions, assessment, and appeal hearings before the CIT(A), Tribunals, High Court, Supreme Court.

- Contribute to Tax risk management and assurance processes under guidance of senior team members and ensure strict adherence to SOPs.

- Assist in overseeing the resource chargeability.

- Managing Client and deliverables through quality results:

- Support senior team members in fee negotiations and discussions on scope for business across clientele.

- Support in gathering and analyzing Business Intelligence related to Direct Tax.

- Build the firm's market visibility and client experience by creating and maintaining strong independent relationships with clients.

- Build and nurture an effective working relationship with Tax authorities, business and functional heads and ensure close involvement of the local and international tax teams and external service providers under guidance of senior team members.

- Team Management:

- Ensure compliance of all aspects of direct taxation.
