The Manager - Costing will oversee, manage and optimise the cost accounting processes and structure within a global manufacturing environment - covering product costing, cost monitoring and analysis, budgeting and controlling, plant cost control and SAP CO system enhancements. A key aspect of the role is strategic partnership with the Global Sales team to drive data-informed product pricing, customer profitability and margin improvement across all subsidiaries, while serving as a business partner to the operations and finance teams in driving cost efficiency, profitability and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Product Costing & Pricing:

- Develop and maintain standard cost models for all products across multiple manufacturing sites.

- Work with production, procurement and R&D for accurate, timely costing updates and new-product costing.

- Support pricing strategies and reviews based on cost structures and market data; align pricing decisions with Global Sales on cost realities and margin targets.

- Run cost simulations for new products and BOM/process changes; support financial modelling, payback/IRR calculations and monitoring of new capex projects.

2. Sales Partnership for Pricing & Margin Improvement:

- Collaborate with Global Sales on pricing proposals and customer quotations.

- Conduct customer- and product-level profitability analysis to guide commercial decisions; recommend pricing adjustments based on cost movements, competitive positioning and margin goals.

- Lead margin improvement projects with Sales, Product Management and Operations.

3. Cost Monitoring & Analysis:

- Monitor and analyse variances between standard and actual costs; identify cost drivers and provide actionable insights.

- Profitability and margin analysis at SKU, customer and business-unit levels; insights on variable and fixed cost trends.

- Evaluate inventory valuations and overhead absorption; responsible for inventory verification and reporting, release of new-product cost estimates in SAP, and month-closing activities in the system.

4. Plant Cost Analysis:

- Partner with plant management to monitor production and operational costs (direct and indirect); support CAPEX planning and cost-benefit analyses.

- Set and monitor cost KPIs for manufacturing units (production efficiency, yield, waste); track Kaizen initiatives and cost-saving projects.

5. Budgeting & Forecasting:

- Coordinate and compile the annual budget for all group companies; analyse deviations and recommend corrective actions.

- Business scenario analysis and rolling forecasts (weekly, monthly, quarterly, six-monthly) with observations on revenue and cost drivers.

- Develop cost-centre budgets with monthly budget vs. actual reporting; assist in setting manufacturing and cost-efficiency targets.

6. SAP Controlling (CO) & System Improvements:

- Act as SAP key user for cost controlling - product costing, cost-centre accounting and internal orders.

- Drive system enhancements and automation for costing, reporting and budgeting; ensure master-data integrity (customers, vendors, products) across subsidiaries; train users on SAP CO and reporting tools.
