Job Title: Compliance Manager


Job Summary


We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Compliance Manager for a leading Garment Manufacturing organization in Bhubaneswar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, managing buyer audits, and driving ethical sourcing, fair labor practices, and sustainability initiatives. This role plays a critical part in protecting brand reputation, strengthening governance frameworks, and building a culture of responsible manufacturing.


Key Responsibilities


- Ensure full compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to garment manufacturing units.


- Lead and manage buyer audits and certifications (SEDEX, BSCI, SA8000, WRAP, etc.), ensuring zero major non-conformities.


- Implement and monitor ethical sourcing and fair labor practices, in line with international standards.


- Drive and oversee sustainability initiatives, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.


- Establish transparent systems and processes for compliance tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement.


- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks.


- Ensure adherence to labor laws, factory acts, health & safety standards, and social compliance norms.


- Act as a key interface with buyers, auditors, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.


- Train and sensitize factory management and workforce on compliance, ethics, and sustainability practices.


- Protect and enhance the companys brand reputation through responsible and transparent manufacturing operations.


Skills & Competencies Required


Core Compliance Skills


- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance in garment/manufacturing industry


- Expertise in buyer audits and social compliance standards


- Deep understanding of ethical sourcing, fair labor, and sustainability frameworks


Professional Skills


- Excellent audit management and documentation skills


- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities


- High level of ownership, accountability, and integrity


- Ability to implement structured compliance systems and drive cultural change


- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities


Preferred Background


- Experience in Garment / Textile / Apparel Manufacturing


- Exposure to international compliance and sustainability standards


- Prior interaction with global buyers and third-party auditors
