Position Overview:

The Team Member - Commercial will support the commercial and contract management function of the Mine Project in Mozambique. The role is responsible for managing commercial operations, contract administration, vendor coordination, procurement support, compliance monitoring, and commercial reporting activities. The incumbent will work closely with mining, engineering, logistics, procurement, and finance teams to ensure efficient project execution and adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Operations & Contract Administration:

- Support the administration and execution of commercial contracts for mining, logistics, and infrastructure operations.

- Monitor contract deliverables, milestones, variations, and commercial obligations.

- Assist in contract review, negotiations, amendments, and renewals.

- Track contractual performance and identify risks or deviations from agreed terms.

- Maintain proper documentation of contracts, correspondence, and commercial records.

Vendor Management:

- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure smooth contract execution.

- Support vendor evaluation, selection, onboarding, and performance monitoring.

- Assist in resolving commercial disputes and contractual issues.

- Ensure compliance with company procurement and contracting policies.

Cost Control & Commercial Analysis:

- Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditure against approved plans.

- Support preparation of commercial evaluations, pricing analyses, and cost-benefit assessments.

- Assist in identifying opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiencies.

- Analyse commercial data and prepare recommendations for management review.

Compliance & Governance:

- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and local regulations.

- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions related to commercial activities.

- Maintain records required for statutory and internal compliance purposes.

- Monitor adherence to Mozambique commercial and business regulations.

Reporting & MIS:

- Prepare periodic commercial MIS reports, dashboards, and performance updates.

- Track KPIs related to contracts, vendor performance, and project commercial outcomes.

- Support management reviews through accurate reporting and commercial insights.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Technical & Functional Skills:

- Strong understanding of commercial operations, contract management, procurement, and vendor management.

- Knowledge of commercial documentation, contract lifecycle management, and compliance processes.

- Exposure to mining, EPC, manufacturing, infrastructure, or heavy industrial sectors preferred.

- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.

Business & Commercial Acumen:

- Commercial analysis and financial understanding.

- Budget monitoring and cost-control capability.

- Risk identification and mitigation.

- Contract interpretation and administration skills.

Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

- Ability to work in a multicultural and remote project environment.

- Strong negotiation and relationship management capabilities.

Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

- MBA or professional certification in Contracts, Commercial Management, Procurement, or Supply Chain will be an added advantage.

Experience:

- 7 - 12 years of experience in commercial operations, contract administration, procurement, or project commercial management.

- Experience in mining, EPC, infrastructure, manufacturing, power, metals, or industrial projects preferred.

- Exposure to international projects or African markets will be advantageous.

- Experience managing vendors, contracts, and commercial reporting in a project environment.

- Effective contract compliance and administration.

- Timely closure of commercial issues and vendor disputes.

- Accuracy of commercial reporting and MIS.

- Cost savings and budget adherence.

- Vendor performance and contract fulfilment.
