Job Summary:
The Manager Closing & Reporting is responsible for overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting for the hotel. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and brand/ownership financial guidelines. The position requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and expertise in hotel financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Closing & Reporting:
- Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for the hotel.
- Prepare and review P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance reports.
- Ensure timely submission of financial results to corporate/ownership.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights on revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Review daily revenue reports, night audit summaries, and trial balances.
Accounting & Compliance:
- Ensure accuracy of all general ledger entries related to hotel operations.
- Maintain compliance with statutory regulations, internal SOPs, and brand financial policies.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of financial records for audit readiness.
- Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements.
Coordination & Support:
- Collaborate with department heads (F&B, Rooms, Housekeeping, Engineering, HR) to gather financial data and validate expenses.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Coordinate with procurement, stores, and cost control teams for reconciliations.
- Train and mentor finance team members in closing and reporting processes.
Systems & Tools:
- Manage and review data in PMS (Opera/Fidelio), POS systems, and accounting software (SAP/Oracle/IDS).
- Ensure integration accuracy between front-office and back-office systems.
- Generate reports using MIS tools and dashboards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CA
- 58 years of experience in hotel financial accounting, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of hospitality financial statements
- Proficiency in PMS/POS systems and advanced Excel skills.
