Job Description Business Development Manager
Team: Presales / Sales
Designation: Business Development Manager Microsoft Security
Job Role:
- Lead the expansion of our Microsoft Security Services portfolio within the SME and 2nd Tier Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) segments.
- This is a strategic sales role focused on driving revenue, enabling RMIT-aligned compliance selling, and supporting Microsoft-led cybersecurity transformation across mid-market and regulated financial institutions.
- The ideal candidate will have a hunter mindset, strong knowledge of Microsofts security solutions, and the ability to establish trust with executive-level stakeholders.
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity solution sales, preferably with Microsoft technologies, and a proven track record in BFSI accounts.
Job Location: Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Shifts: Day Shifts.
However, flexibility to support extended hours and be available on call when required.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Drive new business acquisition for Microsoft Security solutions (Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Entra, Compliance Manager) within BFSI clients (banks, insurance, fintech).
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies targeting RMIT and MAS TRM-driven compliance requirements.
- Cultivate executive-level relationships (CISOs, CROs, Compliance Officers) and act as a trusted cybersecurity advisor.
- Conduct briefings, demos, and regulatory-aligned assessments for client stakeholders.
- Own the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting through proposal to closure.
- Maintain sales pipeline, reporting, and forecasting aligned to company KPIs.
- Collaborate with Microsoft teams, solution architects, and delivery teams for successful presales and delivery alignment.
- Support SoW development, proposals, and tender responses (e.g , RFPs in the BFSI sector).
Essential Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Security portfolio: Defender, Sentinel, Compliance Manager, Entra ID
- Ability to map RMIT and MAS TRM compliance needs to Microsoft security controls
- Experience developing business cases and RoI-led positioning for cybersecurity investments
- Exposure to working with regulated industries, especially financial institutions
Non-Technical Skills:
- Strong hunter mindset with consultative and solution selling approach
- Deep understanding of compliance frameworks: RMIT, MAS TRM, ISO 27001
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sales certifications (preferred): Microsoft Security Sales Accreditation, MS-900, SC-900
- Results-oriented with a structured sales methodology and reporting discipline
- Strong business acumen and ability to drive strategy in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
