Manager/Assistant Vice President - ECM Syndication - Banking/Financial Services

A Category I Merchant Banker is hiring for its ECM syndication desk, with a core focus on syndication, coverage and placements.

Key responsibilities:

- Identify and target institutional investors, both domestic and international, alongside the sales and investment banking teams.

- Maintain databases of investor preferences, allocations and feedback.

- Participate in investor picks meetings and select investors with the sales team.

- Coordinate meetings and slots between issuer, investors and other lead managers.

- Build investor relationships through interaction and deal marketing.

- Track market sentiment, deal flow, recent ECM transactions and investor behaviour.

- Gauge investor appetite pre-deal and manage demand during the offering.

- Monitor demand, pricing and feedback through execution; provide competitive analysis on pricing, structure and timing.

- Manage book-building and allocation.

- Coordinate with execution, legal, compliance, sales and research teams.

- Prepare deal memos, allocation reports and post-deal analysis.

- Ensure smooth execution of IPOs, FPOs, QIPs and block trades and feed investor preferences back to origination.

Candidate profile:

- 7-9 years in investment banking, specifically ECM, covering IPO, QIP, buyback, FPO, rights issue, open offer, FCCB and GDR / ADR.

- Proven syndication track record with strong relationships across large corporates and financial services markets.
