Job Description of Manager / Asst Manager, Packaging Development

M. Sc. / B. Pharm with packaging specialization

10 - 16 years of experience from EU / US FDA approved set-up

Budget CTC: 13 lacs pa

1. Preparations, reviews of art-works of Pharma packaging; approval of proofs & shade cards.

2. Preparation of key-lines with specifications and to share it with customers for art-work development.

3. Tech checking of draft art-works received from customers & providing technical inputs where necessary.

4. Coordinating with partners or customers for art-work approvals followed by internal approvals.

5. Finalization of packaging specifications & configurations. Providing draft specifications of PMs to QC/QA for approvals & distributions.

6. Change part development for new products in blistering machine & verifying suitability of any existing change parts.

7. Shipper & Shipper label developments

8. Developing or coordinating with customers for 2D barcode details & getting the 2D barcode printed samples of cartons & shipper labels

9. Coordinating with vendors to get the artworks printed & PMs supplied.

10. Taking new packaging material trials to ensure the suitability / feasibility on machines.

11. Preparation & reviewing of machine trials reports.

12. Resolving technical issues through root cause analysis & providing tech support to packaging department.

13. PM vendor audits, where necessary.

14. Initiation of change controls, deviations, incidents; preparation & review of Master Packaging Records.

15. Preparation of BOMs & uploading it in ERP. Preparation & review of Batch Packaging Records.

16. Providing weight & volume details of products for shipment freight cost estimation.

17. Reverse engineering of marketed pack samples & report preparations.

18. Identification of primary, secondary & tertiary PM vendors & arranging the samples for packaging developments

19. Co-ordinate with R&D, Production, Purchasing, QA, QC, Warehouse, Packaging & vendors; also for any trouble shootings.

20. Preparation of department SOPs. To guide & train the packaging development team.
