Manager - Application Development

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Team Management :

- Lead, mentor, and develop application development teams to achieve organizational goals.

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Manage team performance, resource allocation, and career development plans.

- Support hiring, onboarding, and retention of technical talent.

Application Development & Delivery :

- Oversee the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

- Establish and enforce development standards, coding practices, and quality assurance processes.

- Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, and modern software engineering practices.

Technical Leadership :

- Define application architecture and technology roadmaps aligned with business requirements.

- Review technical designs and provide guidance on complex development challenges.

- Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements.

- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and development tools.

Stakeholder Management :

- Partner with business leaders, product owners, architects, and project managers to define priorities and deliver solutions.

- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and actionable development plans.

- Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership.

Governance & Compliance :

- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Manage application lifecycle governance, change management, and release processes.

- Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- 8 - 12+ years of experience in software/application development.

- 3 - 5+ years of experience leading technical teams or managing application development projects.

- Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, and enterprise application development.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.

- Proven track record of delivering large-scale technology projects.

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript).

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

- Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL).

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and automation tools.

- Understanding of microservices, APIs, and modern application architectures.
