Role & Responsibilities:
The Ad Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sustained revenue growth by securing high-value advertising partnerships and strengthening the organizations presence in the digital media ecosystem. This position goes beyond traditional salesit requires strategic thinking, strong relationship management, and a deep understanding of how businesses leverage advertising to achieve their marketing and commercial objectives.
At its core, the role demands a blend of proactive outreach, thoughtful client engagement, and data-backed decision-making. The Ad Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying potential clients, developing long-term relationships, and creating ad solutions that deliver measurable value. This involves working closely with internal teams such as marketing, content, and analytics to design solutions that align with client needs while maximizing revenue potential.
A key element of success in this role is the ability to manage the entire sales cycle from scratchstarting from building a pipeline to closing deals and nurturing ongoing partnerships. The ideal candidate will be equipped to understand client challenges, position the company's advertising products effectively, and build trust through consistent performance and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline: Create and maintain a strong pipeline from the ground up by sourcing, qualifying, and converting high-potential leads. This includes proactively identifying new business opportunities, conducting outreach, and driving conversations with brands, agencies, and strategic partners.
- Design and implement CRM systems: Set up and manage CRM tools such as HubSpot, Zoho, or Salesforce to track sales activities, monitor funnel performance, and optimize outreach efforts. Maintain clean and accurate data for reporting, forecasting, and improving sales efficiency.
- Craft customized media proposals and pitches: Understand client objectives, industry dynamics, and budget constraints to develop tailored advertising solutions. Present compelling proposals that articulate value, highlight performance metrics, and demonstrate a clear ROI for clients.
- Manage sales pipelines and forecasts: Maintain accurate sales forecasts and continuously monitor pipeline health. Ensure transparency and accountability by providing timely updates on progress, potential risks, and opportunities.
- Report key insights and campaign outcomes: Provide actionable insights and performance reports to internal and external stakeholders. Highlight successes, areas for improvement, and revenue impact while ensuring clarity in campaign delivery and client satisfaction.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related discipline. An MBA is considered an advantage, especially for candidates aspiring to lead larger portfolios or strategic initiatives.
- Brings 2-8 years of experience in ad sales, media sales, or similar roles, ideally within the Tech space, where digital-first strategies and fast-paced environments are familiar territory.
- Demonstrates a proven ability to meet or exceed revenue targets, showcasing resilience, drive, and strong execution capabilities.
- Has a thorough understanding of ad sales processes, digital advertising ecosystems, and performance metrics, including formats like CPM, CPC, CPL, and CPA.
- Possesses excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of building strong client relationships and communicating value with clarity and confidence.
- Is an exceptional presenter, able to articulate ideas effectively and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.
