Management Consultant - Tata Strategic Management Group (Tata Group) The Consultant role is a transitional role to the Project Leader level. Our Consultants are required to manage small projects or manage modules in larger projects. The role requires direct interface with clients. This role is more complex and larger in scope in comparison to that of an Associate. It requires an incumbent to not only be responsible for project execution, but also effectively manage team and client expectations. A Consultant is responsible for project planning, project execution including independent client interface and team management. He/she is expected to develop expertise in an industry / geography / offering and support/perform research, quantitative analysis and interviewing, create work plans, ensure adherence to timelines, 'manage' clients, conceptualize strategic solutions with limited guidance from seniors, update superiors on project progress, and guide and manage small teams. Those looking for advancement within Tata Strategic and growing their consulting careers will, over a period, move on to become Projects Leaders. They may progress from here to managing larger and more complex projects which will prepare them for the role of Project Leader. Others may choose to use the Tata Strategic experience to shift into corporate roles within the Tata Group. Most Consultants possess an undergraduate degree in engineering with a post graduate degree in management/business administration from a reputed institution. Typically, they also possess about 2 to 3 years of professional experience either in consulting or industry.
