KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: As part of Maersk Line Fleet Management Technology operate fully aligned with the company's core values as well as goals commonly set by the Management of ML Ship Management and with a foresight to prepare for the projected growth with respect to safety, competence building, human resources, systems and procedures. - Contribute towards developing an UW Module within the star-connect platform under the connected vessel initiative - Leading projects connected to Underwater Operations. Engaging with team and relevant stakeholders from fleet optimization, external universities and authorities for moving to a predictive hull cleaning model for the underwater operations. Working with data scientist to establish environmental factors that affect hull fouling. - Planning &amp; Co-ordination of propeller polishing, hull cleanings and hull inspection for ML operated fleet. - Assist with dry docking business cases, as needed and quality assessments on the hull activities. - Engaging at Cross functional level to collaborate on cost benefit case for different strategic decisions viz- Early Dry docking, planned idling strategies - Support the team by filling gaps when challenges on bandwidth, and monitoring critical UW jobs, as and when required. - Taking lead on innovative projects with A3 methodology - Developing standards/guidelines for Propeller polishing, hull cleaning and relevant underwater activities etc. - Full support and business centric approach to dive operations required for ad-hoc and misc. underwater repairs to ML technical superintendents. - Ensure that good co-ordination for planned propeller polishing, hull cleaning and inspections between vessel, port, liner operation and diving company. - Ensure good engagement with global dive vendors for dive operations. - Active involvement in hull performance meetings with key stakeholders. - Proactive approach in planning to ensure ML fleet has the best hull performance. - Ensure that documentation of underwater operations is kept up to date. - Study dive reports and provide fair assessment to performance. Who we are looking for: - 3 years relevant experience or understanding of Underwater Operations within the shipping industry would be preferred. Project management experience is an advantage. - Marine Biologist or Naval Architecture background is a must. - Practical understanding and performance of different grade of marine paint w.r.t ship's hull would be advantageous. - Good understanding of MS office tools, including, outlook, excel and word. - Experience in managing multiple stakeholders with different priorities - Good and effective communication skills. Good technical skills to interact with stakeholders and vessel crew via available communication medium (Emails, telephone, video conference, etc.) - Flexibility to adjust to work timings as per the business requirements. - Good Organizational and analytical skills - Should be able to share knowledge &amp; accept ideas - Independent, systematic and detail-oriented worker - Enthusiastic and motivated person - Must have a positive and pro-active attitude
