Job Description: Head - Dialysis Operations
The Head - Dialysis Operations will be responsible for leading end-to-end dialysis delivery network, ensuring operational, clinical, and financial excellence across all centers. The role encompasses commissioning of new centers, business expansion through operational scale-up, performance optimization, and central command center oversight. This position will serve as the bridge between strategic growth objectives and on-ground operational execution, ensuring deliver world-class outcomes
Key Responsibilities
1. Commissioning & Expansion of Dialysis Centers
- Lead the setup, commissioning, and ramp-up of new dialysis centers across domestic and international markets.
- Develop and execute expansion strategies in alignment with growth roadmap - including greenfield centers, O&M models, and PPP partnerships.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for site readiness, regulatory clearances, installation of devices, and clinical onboarding.
- Ensure operational standardization, scalability, and cost efficiency across all new deployments.
2. Clinical, Operational & Service Excellence
- Drive adherence to clinical protocols, quality standards, and patient safety frameworks across all centers.
- Monitor and continuously improve key clinical and operational KPIs such as dialysis adequacy, machine uptime, infection control, and patient satisfaction.
- Implement a continuous improvement framework for nursing care, technician performance, and infection prevention.
- Build a culture of operational excellence, empathy, and patient-first service across all touchpoints.
3. Central Command Center Management
- Oversee the Renal Command Center, ensuring real-time visibility into performance metrics across centers - including patient parameters, machine uptime, consumable usage, and service requests.
- Utilize command center analytics to drive proactive interventions, remote troubleshooting, and operational benchmarking.
- Integrate data from the Digital Nephrology Platform to support predictive maintenance, clinical quality monitoring, and efficiency optimization.
- Leverage digital dashboards for performance governance and decision-making at both strategic and operational levels.
4. Manpower & Resource Management
- Lead end-to-end workforce planning, recruitment, training, and performance management for dialysis technicians, nurses, and operational staff.
- Establish manpower norms, shift structures, and productivity benchmarks tailored to each center's scale.
- Oversee sourcing, inventory, and usage optimization of consumables and medical supplies to ensure availability and cost control.
- Foster capability development programs and leadership pipelines across the operations team.
5. Financial & P&L Management
- Own the full P&L for the dialysis operations vertical, ensuring revenue growth, cost control, and profitability at the center and network levels.
- Develop financial models and budgets for existing and new centers, tracking performance against targets.
- Identify and execute initiatives for efficiency improvement, yield enhancement, and cost optimization.
- Align pricing, reimbursement, and partnership structures with financial sustainability goals.
6. Business Development & Strategic Support
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify, assess, and secure new hospital partnerships, O&M contracts, and PPP opportunities.
- Support the marketing team with operational insights and success stories to strengthen positioning in the renal care ecosystem.
- Contribute to business planning, investor discussions, and strategic reviews with operational data and performance intelligence.
7. Governance, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all local and national healthcare, biomedical, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of centers for quality assurance, operational compliance, and process adherence.
- Maintain strong alignment between clinical governance, operations, and digital command center data streams.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous quality improvement initiatives across the network.
Key Competencies
- Proven leadership in dialysis, hospital, or healthcare operations management.
- Strong command of clinical quality, P&L accountability, and multi-site performance management.
- Deep understanding of dialysis workflows, consumable management, and patient care pathways.
- Exposure to digital health systems, IoT-enabled monitoring, or command-center operations preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management, financial acumen, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams with empathy, discipline, and performance focus.
- 6+ years of experience in Startup, Healthcare/Healthtech service operations or Consulting
- Healthcare background with MBA from Tier 1 institutes in India preferred
