Logistics Lead Overview
Logistics Lead will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain and logistics strategy, execution, and optimization. This lead ensures timely and cost-effective movement of goods, focusing on process innovation to serve both traditional outlets and fast-paced digital channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute logistics and distribution strategies to ensure efficient delivery to traditional, modern, and e-commerce channels.
- Optimize warehousing, inventory, and transportation, ensuring products reach warehouses, stores, and customers swiftly and safely.
- Oversee last-mile delivery operations crucial for quick commerce models, minimizing delivery times and costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, Procurement ) to align logistics with digital business needs.
- Implement and manage logistics for online platforms and quick commerce partners, with attention to order fulfillment, returns, and rapid delivery.
- Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and plan replenishment for high frequency and smaller basket online orders.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers, third-party logistics (3PL), and delivery partners.
- Should have hands on experience on SAP and Bidding portals.
- Develop and nurture relationships with vendors for fast and flexible sourcing.
- Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and implement process enhancements across storage, picking, packing, routing, and delivery.
- Drive initiatives in automation and digital tools to reduce errors and turnaround times.
- Lead the logistics department, fostering high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Reporting & KPIs:
- Define and monitor logistics KPIs (OTIF, delivery lead time, cost-to-serve, order accuracy, etc.).
- Share regular performance reports with senior management.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in logistics and supply chain, specifically within high-volume FMCG and e-commerce/quick commerce environments (typically 710 years, with multi-regional operations exposure).
- In-depth knowledge of logistics platforms , digital processes, and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Analytical thinking with ability to drive continuous process improvement through data.
- Agility to thrive in dynamic, high-speed market environments and quickly resolve operational disruptions.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior handling of logistics for , GT , MT , e-commerce/quick commerce within a prominent FMCG brand.
- Demonstrated success in optimizing last-mile delivery and rapid fulfilment operations.
- Experience with multi-channel inventory management and integrating online and offline logistics flow
- MBA is required
