Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Logistics & Procurement professional to lead our end-to-end supply chain operations in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating the movement of goods, managing complex vendor relationships, and ensuring seamless inventory flow across our regional distribution network. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and warehouse operations, to align procurement strategies with business growth objectives. Your work will directly impact our bottom line by optimizing cost structures, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring that our customers receive high-quality products on time, every time, in a dynamic market environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to source high-quality materials at competitive costs, ensuring the business maintains a healthy margin.
- Oversee the entire logistics lifecycle, from international freight forwarding to last-mile delivery, to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance within Nigeria.
- Manage and optimize inventory levels through data-driven forecasting, reducing carrying costs while preventing stockouts to meet customer demand.
- Negotiate and maintain long-term contracts with local and international vendors to secure favorable payment terms and service level agreements.
- Implement robust supply chain performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement in delivery timelines and operational throughput.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex supply chains, including deep knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and local logistics infrastructure in Nigeria.
- Proven ability to lead high-stakes negotiations with suppliers and logistics partners to drive cost-efficiency and service excellence.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret inventory data and market trends, translating them into actionable procurement plans.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders across different levels of the organization and manage diverse vendor relationships effectively.
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, complemented by a track record of 5 to 10 years in a senior operational role.
- High adaptability to an on-site work environment, with the ability to navigate the fast-paced and often unpredictable nature of the Nigerian market.
