Role Overview
The Logistics & Distribution Manager will oversee end-to-end logistics operations across multiple warehouses in South India, including warehousing, distribution, and last-mile delivery. The role requires strong leadership in managing teams, service providers, and operational excellence initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management: Manage logistics operations across regional warehouses and CFA locations, ensuring smooth dispatches and timely deliveries.
Inventory Control: Implement FIFO/FEFO practices and maintain 100% inventory accuracy. Monitor product shelf life and reduce returns to factory.
Vendor & Service Provider Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics partners, monitor performance, and onboard new service providers.
Process Excellence: Drive continuous improvement through frameworks such as 5S, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements including HSE guidelines, transport safety protocols, and applicable rules.
Data & Reporting: Develop dashboards and reports using analytical tools (e.g., Power BI) to improve visibility, enhance service levels, and support decision-making.
Loss Prevention: Monitor damages and leakages, implement preventive measures, and manage recovery through service providers or insurance claims.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, finance, regulatory, and warehouse teams to align logistics strategies with organizational goals.
Project Implementation: Support global and local logistics projects, adopting new technologies and strategic approaches for efficiency.
Finance Interface: Coordinate with finance teams on freight provisions, inventory provisions, and statutory audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Science Graduate, preferably with MBA in Operations or Supply Chain Management.
Experience: Minimum 8 years, with at least 2 years in a responsible corporate/leadership role. Experience in logistics and distribution handling high product volumes at a national or regional level is preferred.
Technical Skills: Hands-on knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), Power BI, and analytical tools.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders.
